I would have liked to hear Nick address what I think is the biggest reason that players opt out, and it is the calendar, but not because the bowls are after the portal opening. In a sport where teams play every week all season, most bowl teams play a game November 30th, and then wait a month to play again. I wouldn't play either. There are 8 games on December 28th? That's 16 teams that need to hang around for 4 weeks to play another game.
