The 42-21 loss at Kentucky officially put the death nail in the Ed O experience at LSU. You can't allow Will Levis to score 5 TDs on you and expect to remain the LSU HC. Ed O's pink slip was already printed after a tumultuous offseason and getting outmuscled by UCLA in the opener.

Alex, Palm Springs is pretty awesome this time of year. If you have the time, check out Tac/Quila and Bootlegger Tiki.

I always like the idea that bowl games matter if they fit the narrative. The post 2022 bowl performances of USC and Clemson indicated that both those programs were on the downswing, so the CFB media viewed those games as prescient (while also proving that Joe Milton was a future star). Meanwhile, since TCU losing by 58 to Georgia didn't fit into the Horned Frogs story during the regular season, we were led to believe that result wasn't something to remember. It's of course notable that Lincoln Riley and Dabo Swinney are the coaches that most of the CFB media really wants to see lose.

Some would say Ed was pre-fired when the negotiations with Marcus Freeman and a few other assistant broke down that offseason.

The other angle to jetgate was Petrino had been at Auburn previously, and Tuberville had encouraged him to take the Louisville job. So there was definitely personal betrayal.
